Red House
San Diego, CA
Located on the edge of a lush canyon in San Diego’s Mission Hills neighborhood, this project is an extensive remodel of a small cottage. The house was reoriented towards the canyon with the creation of a spacious open living space on the top floor. Large pocket doors and terraces encircle the house and extend the living space outdoors through the palms and into the canyon. A third floor was added by excavating below the house, allowing for two additional bedrooms.
