This month we spotlight the Omaha RiverFront Revitalization, as this project in which SRA participated has been recently selected as one of only ten projects in North America to receive an Urban Land Institute Americas Award for Excellence. This nationally recognized effort involved several talented team members, with SRA designing one of the Omaha RiverFront Revitalization’s most iconic structures, the Omaha Pedestrian Bridge.
The Omaha RiverFront Revitalization transformed three of the city’s downtown parks to provide increased access to outdoor amenities including play areas, walking paths, public art, and connections to nature and open spaces. Located within the Heartland of America park, the Omaha Pedestrian Bridge is now an iconic structure with a pier-like form that extends out over the Missouri River and offers locals and visitors a new destination in which to gather and take in panoramic views of the river, surrounding nature, and the city.
