Once a carrier of train traffic, this renovated 385-foot railroad bridge today provides a scenic link over the Des Moines River from east to west. Painted bright red reminiscent of a train caboose, the bridge features cantilevers on each side that allow pedestrians and bicyclists to stop and enjoy the view or engage in Des Moines’s age-old tradition of fishing.
